The Hobart 30SX240 PoWerMaster® 2400 ground power unit is the safe choice for the supply of modern aircraft. It is the only solid state frequency converter in the market that has 400% overload at the output! Also, it provides 90 kW continuous power at an ambient temperature of +132 ° F (56° C).

The Hobart 30SX240 PoWerMaster® 2400 ground power unit is equipped with the patented Plug & Play system. Therefore, you experience an outstanding voltage quality at the aircraft plug. This is what matters and what makes your aircraft accept the voltage from the solid state frequency converter (SSFC) unit..

The Plug & Play means that the Hobart PoWerMaster® 2400 ground power unit fulfills the stringent requirements of most installations as it compensates for long asymmetrical output cables, unbalanced loads as well as various power factors. The magnetic wave-shaping topology ensures a clean input power with a unity power factor and a current THD less than 5%.

Unique Voltage Quality at the Aircraft Plug

In the next edition of ISO 6858, the requirements for voltage quality are defined at the aircraft connector. This is not a problem for most solid state frequency converters as long as relatively short and symmetrical 400 Hz cables are used. However, fixed installations often include a mix of long symmetrical and asymmetrical cables as well as connection boxes. Under such conditions most solid state frequency converters cannot provide the required voltage quality at the aircraft connector. This is also true for solid state frequency converters where the compensation is based on both actual current and power factor. That’s where our patented Plug & Play voltage drop compensation comes into play. Based on true individual phase regulation combined with a predetermined model of the actual cable installation, the Hobart solid state frequency converter is capable of fulfilling all ISO 6858 requirements in case of asymmetrical cables, unbalanced loads and various power factors.

Extremely Easy Operation and Set-up

Based on our long experience, we have chosen to do the operator interface as easy and intuitive as possible. This is your guarantee for correct operation and on-time aircraft departures. The daily operator only has to press the combined start/stop button. Also, he can monitor various parameters such as voltage and current at the display screen. For easy set-up and maintenance purposes, there is a further level dedicated for the technician.

Easy Access for Cable Connections and vital Components

Connection of rigid input and output cables has been made easy since there is plenty of room at the bottom of the cabinet. Further, we have integrated a steel bar clamp at the bottom for cable relief. As it appears from the drawing, access to the vital parts of the converter is extremely easy since they have all been positioned right behind the front door.
